Faith in the resurrected Christ is the only hope for salvation. This faith is not a mere knowledge of facts, but a reliance on and a trusting in the Person and work of Jesus Christ for salvation from sin. Saving faith is a gift from God that is undeserved, unearned, and unmerited. This faith not only looks to the past work of Christ on the cross for the forgiveness of our sin, but also results in a turning from our sin to a life of obedience to God.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." - Ephesians 2:8,9
After His death on the cross, Christ rose from the dead to siginify that He had conquered sin and death. He then was seated at the right hand of the Father, from where He reigns as King, commanding all men to repent and believe in Him.
"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved." - Acts 16:31
