WHO HE IS - God created the first man, Adam, righteous. When Adam sinned as our representative, the guilt of that sin was imputed to us, resulting in a corrupt and sinful nature. This corrupt nature involves an entire absence of righteousness before God and an entire inclination towards evil, resulting in a life of rebellion against God.
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23
WHAT HE DESERVES - Because of their rebellion against God, all men are under God's wrath and subject to judgement.
